Its been a very busy year for us at 282 Squadron and the number of awards reflected this.

Various VIPs joined the Squadrons Awards Evening to celebrate the past year. These included the Secretary to the Treasury Stephen Timms MP, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant Colonel Mike Duddiing, the Civic Ambassador for Newham Akbar Chaudhury, Bryan Collier and OC London Wing: Wing Commander Sylvia Silver.

BTEC Public Services: F/S Flynn, SGTs McDermott and Simon.

BTEC Aviation Studies: SGTs McDermott and Simon.

Leading Exams: CPL Varouhakis and Cdt Sarem

First Class Exam: Cdts Singh, Kallah, Chaudhur, Auckbaraullee, Bashir and Green K

Best Junior Shoot: Cdt Lallmamode

The Charles Collier Trophy Senior Shoot: SGT McDermott

Deputy Lieutenant's Certificate:  SGT Simon

Academic Trophy: Cdt Sarem

Merit Award: Cdt Green A

Various Duke of Edinburgh awards were also handed out nd a special presentaion was done to the Squadron adre, Rev Peter Turner, as it was his last night as Padre with 282 SQN.

In all, it was a fantastic night. The Squadronwould liek to say a huge thank you to Mr & Mrs Collier who provided the Lister Room at Newham Town Hall and made it a truely fantastic night to remember!
