We take part in many activities including flying, gliding, going on camps, taking part in all kinds of action, adventure and sports. It’s great fun too, with the opportunity to enjoy an enviable social life and make many new friends. How far are YOU from having a good time?
Air Cadets, aged 13 to 20, and our supporting staff get the opportunity to participate in a large range of stimulating and rewarding activities. Where else could you learn to fly aerobatics, visit Royal Air Force Stations, tour foreign countries, play sports from local to National level, learn the skills to lead expeditions, become a target shooting marksman, gain your Duke of Edinburgh Awards, earn BTECs (up to 6 G.C.S.E.s), canoe through white water, assist your community, join a band, learn aviation subjects, go caving, parachute, climb, sail, ski...
There are lots and lots of activities. These and much more are readily available to you as a member of our squadron and indeed the Air Training Corps, whether you are a cadet or staff member.
With the Cadet 150 celebrations well under way, cadets from 282 Squadron and London Wing have been travelling around the Capital attending various interviews and meeting many celebrities whilst spreading the word of the Air Training Corps.
At this years St George's Day parade in central London, Cadet Flight Sergeant Branden Quinlan along with Millie Celleste from 444 Squadron spent most of the morning with BBC London Radio; speaking about the Air Training Corps and their experiences.
Meanwhile, many other cadets from the Squadron joined forces with other Cadet Organsiations on Parade to celebrate St George's Day and 'Cadet 150'.
Cadet Warrant Officer Eoin Flynn attended a Volunteer Fair at City Hall in London to promote the Air Training Corps. Standing side by side with other representatives of the various cadet organisations, Eoin Flynn explained what the Air Cadets was all about to various visitors including Boris Johnson, Mayor of London.
